GRIFFON

After doing the bunny earlier today I decided to draw and cut a stencil and use watercolors to paint the silhouette.

PEACOCK & BUNNY

Today I started early. Maybe by the end of the day I'll have more! Last night I pulled out my watercolors and started dabbling for the first time with paints. Last night's endeavors weren't very successful, but today's peacock was my first official completed watercolor. I've got a long way to go, but am happy with the first endeavor! Just for fun, I applied a lithographic effect, which brings out the feathered texture I think.

After the peacock, I did this bunny in marker. It actually looks better online where you can't see the bleeding.

RADIATOR CHICK AND BEACH BUMS FROM BEHIND

I began this drawing from an advertisement that caught my eye in a magazine. I made the same mistake as before, saving the figure until last. I was pretty happy with the way the window and background were turning out but decided to abandon the drawing after tackling the woman's head and face. I feel like her hair and face break with the line used in the rest of the drawing and I couldn't work out how to correct it. Maybe eventually I'll come back to it or make another attempt.

After my frustration with my first drawing today, I chose this scene from an old collage I had made a couple years ago. I like the simplicity of the composition and the shading, especially on the legs. I had a hard time getting the man's head right--specifically his hair line.
