And also the ever famous Belgian waffle, which I must say there is a reason it has earned fame. In our experience, it surpassed our wildest expectations. Soooooo good...

This was one of my favorite paintings in one of the many museums in Brussels. So bizarre...

Ok...yeah, this is just weird.

Justin bought me these flowers from a man peddling them at dinner the night we stayed in Brussels. The buds were still closed that night, but they blooms were so lovely and huge once they'd opened. And the dinner that night was perhaps one of the best I've ever had in my life. Lapin moutarde--rabbit with a mustard sauce. Abso-frickin'-delicious. I'm contemplating going back just to eat it one more time before crossing the Atlantic. If only I could remember the name of the restaurant...

So from Aachen we drove on to Brussels. I love Belgium. It's been one of my favorite things about living over here. I love the food, the people are friendly, and they have the quirkiest sense of humor as a nation, as you'll see next post. Where else do you find a fountain of a boy peeing that is dressed up by locals on certain holidays?

We seem to have traveled most often when it's really really cold here. Or maybe it's just really cold a great deal of the time here...

More pictures from Brussels to come.
