Look Loretta!

It's not much, but I put pen to paper. (Or digital stylus to tablet, as the case may be...)

Thanks for encouraging me. :)

IF: Impatient

It's been forever since I've posted a drawing to Illustration Friday, but when I saw this week's word, "Impatient," I knew I had to do something. I am the definition of impatient lately. After nearly four years of not setting foot in my home land, we're getting ready to move back to the states. Our stuff is packed, save a few essentials (i.e. Evie's swing, travel crib, our laptops, etc.) and I'm just itching to go. We have about a month left to go until we fly and I'm having a really hard time waiting...

A long time coming...

I'm going to try to start doing more of this again...

Illustration Friday: Pale

Pale. That's me for sure. Sun exposure is like, my mortal enemy. I actually get a rash if I stay out too long.

Illustration Friday: Contained

I haven't participated in Illustration Friday for weeks now. This week's topic is "contained" and I came up with this image. I sketched it today and decided on this version after trying to color it more extensively.

Lately I've been feeling a bit short on ideas. I have plenty of desire to create, but my attempts have been frustrating. I say lately, but it's been on going for a while. I know I just need to DRAW and nevermind that I think it's crappy, I'll end up improving despite myself. I'm starting a class here in a few weeks. Usually structure helps me keep on track.

Hope you enjoy these fellows. I'm particularly pleased with their expressions.

Daily Doodle

I started this drawing last night because I couldn't think of anything to draw, so I started drawing my empty hot chocolate mug. I continued working on the drawing in Sketchbook Pro today and it began to evolve into an entire still life of the corner of my desk. The paper with the yellow lettering and the linen bag I scanned to include in the stack of papers. I think maybe my favorite part of the drawing is the reflection of the wire on the side of the mug.

Oops...I just spotted a mistake I didn't see before...can you find it?

Illustration Friday: Wise

Here's my entry for this week's topic "wise." I'm actually hoping I might do another for this week. I drew this one using Sketchbook Pro--I'm totally loving this program...
