After two weeks of not participating I'm early this week! Woo hoo! This week's IF topic is 'vacant' and it reminded me of a photo I'd taken back in Oklahoma. I was playing with our new camera and took this accidental picture that I ended up saving because my blank expression was priceless. I am REALLY enjoying playing with my new Bamboo Fun tablet and played around in Illustrator for this one. I saved along the way so you can see my progress in the next post.

What a great image! Nice job on the lips.
Love the image so much that I'm curious about what a bamboo tablet is. Still using my Intuos 3. Is it kinda the same thing? Really wonderful illustration.
Thanks Katie! The bamboo is just another Wacom tablet. It's my first one and I'm just starting to mess around with digital art, so the cheaper price tag was appealing to me. So far I'm really loving it!
This is really cool. I wish I had my dream Wacom, too ;)

Wow! And you've just started with digital? Really, really brilliant!
I like the choice of blank white for the face. I think it emphasizes the vacant look.
Nice to see the progress, too. I sometimes do this, but often forget to post the stages. It's always cool to see the steps.
